Seller hasn't responded to claim by due date (July 4th). What happens when the seller never replies?

I purchased something over a month ago on an app (Depop) and the seller only responded to me once, more than a week after the purchase, to tell me why they hadn't shipped yet, after I had sent many messages asking what the deal was. After a few more weeks of no responses to my many messages, I opened a claim and it was stated that the seller had until the 4th to respond. Of course, to no surprise, they didn't respond, so now (July 12th) the claim is left with no update from the seller or PayPal. Does PayPal wait as long as it takes the other party to respond, or is the due date just a guesstimate? I've tried to email PayPal twice now and I haven't received even a conformation email. No response. Why is this taking so long?

@emanky

Lots of posts on the same issue in the last few days.

Seems to be a delay on reviewing claims.

You can either wait it out or contact customer services for an update.

I think Paypal claims dept is bogged down by the ZG technology debacle.
