Scammed

So I was scammed out of a lot of money and blindly authorized some bad transactions. The person told me to use "friends and family" and I only later realized that he made me do that to prevent me from filing a business complaint. I have lost a total of over $2k. Is there actually anything I can do, or have I just lost it permanently?

You are correct that friends and family payment does not come with PayPal Purchase Protection. However, if this transaction was not funded by your PayPal balance, you may still want to consider contacting your bank or card issuer for them to discuss some options available.
