Storm Media Limited, Fraud?

As I was going through my receipts for taxes I noticed an entry on my PayPal for Storm Media Limited for last July. I order art instructional videos often, but I could not find any other info for this. I was charged $24.92.

Has anyone else had problems with Storm Media Limited? I didn't get whatever this company said I ordered. I don't know what it is.

I would like to warn others that this could be a fraud.

You chose to buy from this seller, paypal didn't force you to do so and paypal does not choose who you decide to buy from.

They just give you 'some' buyer protection, which if you had taken the time to read before you started buying you may not have been scammed as you would have known that you have to return items first.

Paypal can 'bail' you out for your original transaction amount but the onus is on you to return the item first.

I bet that the seller will not even accept the package back, he will just refuse it and I will end with the money lost for the product and for the shipping.

SO yeah, PayPal do protect scammers like those sellers and not customers like me.

I purchased a Lazy Stand Up Charging Cable for my Samsung S9 but they sent the wrong one after 4 months.  I want to send it back but I don't have a return address.  I've tried sending emails but they come back not delivered.  Has anyone got a return address or do I have to just throw it away and forget I paid $21.96US for it?

The problem with ordering items from Facebook. sometimes you don't know you are buying from Storm Media Limited.

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item
•You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. We'll review the claim and decide on reimbursement.

These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2.Near the bottom of the page, under 'More about your account', click Resolve a problem in our Resolution Centre.
3.Click Dispute a Transaction.
4.Select the button beside the transaction you want to dispute, then click Continue.
5.Select ‘Item dispute’, click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/first-dispute

DO NOT CLOSE THE DISPUTE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CLEARED REFUND OR YOUR ITEM WHATEVER THE SELLER SAYS. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO ESCALATE THE DISPUTE TO A CLAIM WITHIN 20 DAYS IF THE SELLER DOES NOT REFUND.

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will do a chargeback for you.

I never pressed complete purchase when I was thinking of ordering something from Storm Media Limited and I was still charged. There is not a link in email them on my paypal account. How can I get my money back?

I too was scammed by this company. I read somewhere on here someone  contacting the Hong Kong Cyber Crimes Division and filing a complaint, so I looked into this. This is what I found. If enough of us contact them and file a report, I think they will investigate and hopefully do something. So far, Facebook, which is where most of us bought stuff from via newsfeed ads, has done nothing to stop them. PayPal also has done very little to limit this company, may times opting to rule on their behalf even though the merchandise, if even received, is not what it was represented as.

Here is the link to the Hong Kong Cyber Crimes Division: https://www2.erc.police.gov.hk/cmiserc/CCC/PolicePublicPage?language=en. Please be respectful and succinct in your reporting.

There is also a Facebook group that has been started regarding this fraudulent company: Esfranki Storm Media Scam. Please ask to join. The same link has been posted there as well.
