Refunds on returns

I made a purchase via PayPal from my bank account. The item was no good so I returned it and haven’t received a refund from the company. They are not replying to emails and have switched their phone lines off ‘due to Covid’ How do I get a refund? Is there any way of doing this through PayPal? I bought via PayPal thinking I had protection but I can’t see a way of requesting a refund on this basis via PayPal? Thanks Sarah
