EHi PP community. I’m new to this , so don’t know how it works.
Basically I’ve been scammed by a trader in China advertising a nice looking folding camping chair, and delivering a tiny plastic three legged stool...it seems ,from search comments, I’m not the only one.
without going into tedious detail, the company has agreed a refund, if I return the items by 18. Jan...and as this is not possible ,I’m going abroad and the item is at the delivery address in Sussex, and I’m in London, flying to france tomorrow.
ive been asking PP to arrange for an extension....not that I have any expectation of the traders returning my money...they are crooks ....but to go through the motions..( it’s £40 ish. ). I’m more concerned with PP not allowing their rules to be used to victimise honest customers using their operation. They are an organisation with integrity, and trust is important...so enabling crime...or allowing their service to assist crime cannot be in their interest.
Having discussed this with various “ agents” ...they have simply stopped responding....which seems poor service for such a public dependant company.
Anyone got any advice or ideas?
thanks

Unfortunately not...they are on their way to me and we are both flying to france for a fortnight.
The issue is more that PP seem unwilling to sanction a trader that is obviously operating a deliberate scam....( even the address they gave to return the item is a joke...410100 no.18, building 13, west gate, Cathay Kowloon Bay Marketing Centre, Intersection of Dongsan rd.& Binhu Rd, Xingsha st. SHA county, HUNAN, CHINA....,!!
Live recently travelled to China, and the development and infrastructure is astonishing...not to mention wonderful friendly people.
A little more demonstration of PP being unwilling to work with, and enable dodgy dealers to operate would be very welcome.

I was given a completely different item . Nothing like what was ordered
, worthless junk.
The seller offered $10 of my $27. I declined and waited , the reply was a full refund would be given if The item was returned to the seller in 7 days. It took 3 weeks to arrive . There is no way of geting it back in time that he requested!
His email address does not work. And fake trading name.
Building 13, West Gate, Cathay Kowloon Bay Marketing Center, Intersection of Dongsan Road and Binhu Road, Xingsha Street, Sha County, HunanChina
Be aware.
Cheers

No....I got no help from PayPal...they simply drone on about procedure and then blank me cos I haven’t sent back item...regardless of it being an obvious scam.
lve given up a written it off...but it’s a real pain in the **** .....and PP should be offering more help and refusing to allow obvious scammers to use their operation.
good luck...let me know I& you have any success?

It’s a real pain that PP seem unwilling to offer any help with obvious scam traders....I suspect the only real solution is to stop using their service....which as a buyer ,does make life simpler....but one is left open to organised crime like this company.
ive now lost the money...which is not a fortune...but a meaningful amount and I strongly resent PP not offering realistic support, and simply burbling on about “ procedure” ...thus playing into the hands of the crooks.
Pits not as if they can claim ignorance...and they are complicit in this type of crime
good luck...but I expect you will have to simply let the bad guys keep your money.
ps....I’ve recently been to China, and have to say these crooks are the exception...most Chinese people are wonderful!

I have the exact same issue and have received the return address from paypal, but no matter how I enter it into the postal forms, it won't go through. Do you happen to have an image of how you addressed your return package? I got to this forum by googling the address paypal gave me, so I know it's the same one. It keeps saying the street address is wrong. So frustrating!
