Hello everyone,
I am planning on purchasing a virtual item (an account for a game - Runescape).
The issue is, at any point in time, the original owner of the account can reclaim it by following the websites account recovery steps. This uses information like, IP address and bank details used connected to the account and so forth.
I will be sending this individual £150 pounds.
My question is, what can i do so safeguard my payment incase he does recover? - Would documenting everything and requesting him to send me pictures proving this is what the payment was for be worth it?
What protection do i have in terms of buying protection?
Would i be better protected using my bank to transfer the money and open a dispute with them if he does scam me?
