I recently published a drum set from Deborahturner From the company Laio <removed> For 98.00 They ended up charging 112.00 And have a bunch of these flash sales posted all over face book..now i see them selling 6000.00 guitars for 98.00 I may have been scammed...has any body done buisness with the company Liao <removed>? The drum flash sale is gone...but guitar sale all over face book..they had accurate description of all equipment...i mean extreamly detailed.. For every type of drum and guitar they are selling..and pay pal looked legit..even though i paid with credit card...best looking site i have ever seen..better than guitar center or sweet water...

Another 1 of these?

Chinese Web Sites or on Facebook easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

1. No return address on the returns policy............thats because the site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) BUT they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost nearly always more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number............if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. No company address information.
4. Great looking items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.

How do I open a dispute with a seller when a purchase goes wrong?

You can open a dispute in the Resolution Centre of your PayPal account within 180 days of payment if:
•You don’t receive the item
•You receive an item but it’s significantly different than the description on eBay or on the seller’s website

By opening a dispute, you can communicate directly with your seller to work out a problem transaction.

If you reach an agreement with the seller you can close the dispute. If you're still not happy with the result, you can escalate the dispute into a claim. We'll review the claim and decide on reimbursement.

These steps apply to Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.

To open a dispute:
1.Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on the transaction and use the resolve a problem option at the bottom of that details page.

Note:
•Generally buyers must wait at least 7 days from the date of payment to escalate a dispute for an item not received
•Where an item has not been received, please ensure you have given the seller enough time before opening a dispute

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/first-dispute

DO NOT CLOSE THE DISPUTE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CLEARED REFUND OR YOUR ITEM WHATEVER THE SELLER SAYS. ALSO DON'T FORGET TO ESCALATE THE DISPUTE TO A CLAIM WITHIN 20 DAYS IF THE SELLER DOES NOT REFUND.

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will do a chargeback for you.

Yes, this is a very well documented scam unfortunately. And it has been going on for months. it is a chineese site and they are moving from account to account through Paypal. I have to admit I fell for it and had to file a resolution case with Paypal. Which is where the real nightmare started. 2 days without being able to talk to a human being at Paypal. Impossible to file online. Luckily part of the payment was made with a sapphire credit card with Chase. Their customer service was impeccable and immediate. But only part of the payment was made with the credit card, and part with Paypal balance. Since I contacted my credit card bank, now Paypal is refusing to continue to investigate the claim (even so that part of the payment made with paypal balance and was not refunded). I am appalled at the lack of customer service and protection experienced with Paypal. They are clearly encouraging scammers to utilize paypal by making it so easy for them and so difficult for the buyers. I used paypal for years, but now I am clearly going to investigate other platforms like Venmo for my future online transactions. It is inexcusable that Paypal is not able to proactively identify and stop such scammers who have been utilizing Paypal platform for months.

Why is it impossible to file online when hundreds do every day?

Also in paypals user agreement it states if you pursue a chargeback via a card issuer you then negate your right to open a paypal dispute.

Why did you not come here for advice on any issue opening a paypal dispute?
