Paypal denied my claim when I lodged a unauthorised transaction claim - there's a transaction on my account that when i googled the name it came up as a scam - I have no idea what the "item" is that I supposedly bought and I have nothing to find out - no emails saying I purchased anything. There's a shipping number but the link doesn't work. It was back on 3rd September so I don't know what this "item" is that I supposedly bought nor do I have it. But I now can't open any more claims on this transaction its absolute crap so much for Paypals so called "buyer protection"!!

Just got an email back from the "help desk" it wasn't even read by a person I got a robot reply. Load of bull.

I have the same problem! NINE unauthorized transactions and their only bull crap excuse was “this transaction was consistent with your PayPal payment history”

This has just happened to me. I've been a paypal customer for 15 years, and now totally disgusted with them. I've had 2 complaints refused.

This decision was made because this transaction was not unauthorised." which is ridiculous considering one of the transactions was in the Ukraine and the other in China and I live in Australia.  The hackers have also tried to do 2 money transfers from my bank account.  I've spent hours on the Computer trying to solve the problems messaging  with PayPal Agents with no success.  I have telephone text message codes security on my account but the Hackers have been able to bypass that and log into my account and change my passwords along with security questions.  Evidently these log ins cannot be seen by perusing the account...go figure!  Anyway fortunately I got onto the Security Dept. of my Bank and have blocked all payments to Paypal from my Account and also closed the credit card that was linked to Paypal.  When you log into the home page you see huge write ups on their security...obviously PayPay itself is the Biggest Scammer. PayPal were handy but from now on I think I will be paying by Bank Money Transfers. Might take a little longer but no stress or headaches.

Yes, My CC card sent me a letter this weekend saying that I am not responsible for the charge on my CC acount. I am assuming they are going after PP and I know that Barclay's have much more pull with them than I do!

What I do now is just not keep my bank details on PayPal anymore. I put the details in, do the transaction and it goes through straight away and then I immediately delete them again. That way they can't scan me anymore!! And just ignore the messages saying to call them - they will just try and validate their scam.

Its been over 4 months now and nothing has been done by Paypal regarding fraudulent transactions by shopto.net company on my account.  . These shopto.net scammers have taken my money from my account without my consent and Paypal didnt help me either. They blamed due to lockdown they cannot talk and all communications needs to be via chat. Totally shocking service.

It's disgusting. They don't care. I feel like starting a petition. I find it so sad that I have had so many replies to my post all confirming the same scams and no help from PayPal. I just don't keep my bank details on PayPal now - I put them in and as soon as the transaction goes through instantly I take them off again. Now I can't get scammed anymore!

Hi beebear77

Petition sounds like a good idea.

This mob are getting away with blatant fraud.

Why is nothing being done about this?? they must be making a fortune from honest hard working individuals who have no apparent form of re-course and just have to take it on the chin and move on!

Disgusting!!!!

We should ban together and file a class action lawsuit or individually arbitrary lawsuit. Also do not forget, any time your account is compromised and they do not take steps to further ensure your protection, or they provide your information to someone not you, if someone hacks or phishes information, violation of company's legally bound obligations to protect your sensitive information. Also, they're violating the customer agreement, a legally bound contract, when they stake claim about "protection against fraud" and "buyer protection " and fail to do so and make empty claims about it not falling under those categories they are breaching contract!

Hello,

Have you moved forward with any legal procedures? I might not have a choice but to.

I have been fighting for 2 months over the scam charges I received. Some fake purchase of

"First Class Watches" from Globale U.K Limited <removed> www.global-e.com
This was not some small $75 or even $500 scam. It was $3600!
The part that makes this worse is that stupidly my preferred default payment method was set to my personal bank account.
I like many others got that texted saying that there was a potential scam and to press 1 or 2 if this was authorized. I pressed 2 for no and thought everything was good till the next day I was buying gas pulled out my ATM card and was denied, I quickly checked my bank account knowing I had at least $500 in there, and saw a negative balance of $3100 dollars. To say the least I freaked out. I immediately went to PayPal and placed an unauthorized order for the purchase. Then called my bank to notify them of the situation and that it should be resolved shortly by PayPal.
My bank them put a stop payment in and blocked any transactions from this "merchant".
The next day I had a message in the resolution center stating that I was denied. That's where the real fun begins with me flooding the message board showing that the site is a scam the address this "item" is being sent is not my residence and two states way at a parking lot in the middle of nowhere.
Along with that screenshots of my bank account overdrawn.
My appeal was denied, case closed.
I even tried making contact with the "merchant" I posted on their website, I called all their supposed offices around the world all instantly going to the same generic voicemail box, And e-mailing them without a response.
I called my bank and told them the situation and THEY assisted me saying they had reversed the charges due to NSF and would reverse the overdraw fees.
So I thought everything was resolved after seven days of anxiety. As I had no money very low on gas and rent to pay in days. I was so afraid that when my check posted from work it was going to be absorbed by the negative balance.
Then it really hit the fan. A week later as I was preparing to pay my PayPal credit account I saw a charge for you guessed it $3600 dollars to my PayPal account. Fortunately, I changed my preferred default to the PayPal balance. I again filed a claim against it and was denied.
This time I left it as it does not affect me directly. Then I started getting calls and emails from PayPal collections wanting their money.
After several days of calling and soooo many hours on the phone, I got a representative to say that this would be cleared up and that this "company" had been blocked.
It did not go that way and the balance remained and the calls contained. After many more days of calling and hours waisted I got to an account specialist who basically said the only option I have is to do a chargeback or pay it. Well, I thought I just want to resolve this and move on so I go to my bank and discuss doing a chargeback and they said not possible. For one a chargeback only works if the funds are completely taken. So I would first have to have over $3600 in my account and then allow that money to be taken. Second I would have to file another claim with the bank to an already resolved issue then would need to launch another investigation to allow the chargeback. The teller/manager said that would look like I was trying to defraud the bank and most likely be denied with me now permanently losing all that money with no recourse.
The best part about this is that the people that are supposed to protect their customers are attacking them. Instead of PayPal going after the "merchant" they put the burden on their customers. And l love that when I'm taken advantage of they add to the pain of it and then respond that it is my own fault and need to take responsibility for it.
So to court may be my only option as $3600 is way out of the ballpark to bear.
