Paypal denied my unauthorised transaction claim for a scam transaction

Paypal denied my claim when I lodged a unauthorised transaction claim - there's a transaction on my account that when i googled the name it came up as a scam - I have no idea what the "item" is that I supposedly bought and I have nothing to find out - no emails saying I purchased anything. There's a shipping number but the link doesn't work. It was back on 3rd September so I don't know what this "item" is that I supposedly bought nor do I have it. But I now can't open any more claims on this transaction its absolute crap so much for Paypals so called "buyer protection"!!

Just got an email back from the "help desk" it wasn't even read by a person I got a robot reply. Load of bull.

Hi there, this is exact situation is happening to me RIGHT NOW. I have an unauthorized transaction for $1,550.00 for the same thing "first class watches" globale uk limited. Paypal is denying me as well. Were you able to resolve this and if you see my message can you please tell me what you did to get this resolved? Thank you.

First of all I'm sorry you have to go through this as well. The most amazing thing is I as of two days ago might have a solution to this problem. I am 80 days into this and its been a nightmare. At least 5 calls a day from PayPal collections and constant emails about paying them the $3600.

So if my solution works I will come back and share it with you. I will know the results on the 28th, so you will need to hang tight for a little bit.

Just out of curiosity what is the address that this scammer is using to send these "first class watches" to? I wonder if it is the same person that I believe I have tracked down.

If so I will definitely be filing a police report for investigation.

Yes, That is what I found also. Case close is case closed and you will NOT get to talk to anyone about it. However, I also learned when you then file with your Credit card company, (if you have that recourse) Paypal will send you a notice telling you that they want you to close the case with CC and let them decide the case - AFTER they have already said they have decided the case against you! That tells me that the CC companies are putting their 'nads in a wringer and will probably soon be done with Pay pal also.

Yes!!! Apparently it really is that easy for scammers to be protected through paypal and you have no recourse, unless you have Paypal directly charge you CC for the transactions. Then, and only then, do you have any protection. I also have done away with Paypal and will only directly use my Credit card from now on. PP is not now, nor ever will be an option for me again!

Hello @beebear777, thank you for reaching out for assistance on our Community Forums!

Also, thank you @sharpiemarker for providing what options our buyers may have in the dispute process. While you may have the ability to file a chargeback if you use your card, we would like an opportunity for our Disputes and Claims specialists to look into this for you if you have any additional information which we haven't reviewed or if there's been a mistake in processing the case.

Here's a link with information on how to contact our Customer Service directly. Please scroll to the very bottom, select Call Us, and then select "Log In" or "Call us as a guest". You can also contact them directly through email, Facebook and Twitter.

I hope we're able to find an amicable resolution to your case! Thank you again and have a wonderful day!!

-Jon

They have done the same to me. A representative sent an appeal and within minutes it was denied again. I’m livid because I genuinely did not authorize this charge. My money has been taken and PayPal won’t do anything about it. What’s the point of. Having PayPal if they can’t do anything for you?

I have had exactly the same problem and all I am getting is an automated reply.  I am really not happy and so much for buyer protection, I have gone to my credit card company who have a much better idea of customer service.  I would advise you go this route.

Thanks for nothing Pay pal!

the same thing is happening to me. Did you try a chargeback and does it work? I'm looking for a better solution to getting my monies back because Paypal isn't helping me one bit. They don't care at all. Please let me know if you got your money back with your bank and how did they do so?

Same has happened to me. I disputed a transaction then got a message from PayPal to say that it is genuine. I know my account and it was hacked. What is the point of reporting fraud if PayPal supports it? I’m livid.
