Paypal denied my claim when I lodged a unauthorised transaction claim - there's a transaction on my account that when i googled the name it came up as a scam - I have no idea what the "item" is that I supposedly bought and I have nothing to find out - no emails saying I purchased anything. There's a shipping number but the link doesn't work. It was back on 3rd September so I don't know what this "item" is that I supposedly bought nor do I have it. But I now can't open any more claims on this transaction its absolute crap so much for Paypals so called "buyer protection"!!

Just got an email back from the "help desk" it wasn't even read by a person I got a robot reply. Load of bull.

If the transaction was funded with a card, then file a chargeback with card issuer.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

The transaction was made through Paypal therefore it is Paypals problem not my card issuers.

Yeah I agree with above, you need to file a chargeback with your credit card company.

Are you guaranteed to get your money back with a chargeback?

I had two of these claims. When I filed with Paypal, they were immediately denied. I was **bleep**. But thankfully I had my paypal set to route through a credit card. So I filed next with CC co. I immediately got a message from PP telling me to cancel with the cc company or they could not do anything more with the claim! Excuse me!!?? They had already denied the claim and closed it!!

My case was very similar to beebear77, I was charged for an unauthorised transaction, I have no idea what the item was or where it was delivered to,it looks like it was some sort of cd key, therefore I assume it was meant to have been emailed.

I explained this to Paypal.

My claim was denied with no explanation other than there was no unauthorised transaction!!!

Is it that easy to get scammed through Paypal accounts?

My biggest concern is that this is a very serious breach of security which was not taken seriously by Paypal.

i have tried contacting them to appeal, but it appears that closed means closed!

If there is another way of getting my money back please let me know, (not sure about chargeback, the card used was changed from my primary card which was a credit card, to my cashline which is not.

Not very impressed with Paypal, doubt very much I will ever use them again!

Tried to appeal again through message function, it was immediately declined!!!

Absolutely ridiculous that this can happen, not just to me but to many others.

I don`t really understand how Paypal get away with this. I`m amazed that there seems to be no real concern with the security of individuals accounts, and that when concerns are raised, they are completely disregarded in favour of the company that received the unauthorised payment.

In essence, Paypal are effectively saying  I`m lying, giving no reasons as to how their investigation lead them to that conclusion, even after I had requested the information that had determined their decision.

I`m absolutely disgusted that this can happen so easily.

Why are Paypal not being held to account?

Safe to say that shortly I will be an ex Paypal customer and will no longer have any further dealings with them.

The same thing that happened to you, also has happened to me - and I have a lot of friends who use Paypal.

I'm informing my friends to CANCEL PAYPAL and find another more trustworthy company that doesn't VICTIMIZE people who filed honest disputes!!  This is outrageous how they just automatically CLOSE a dispute even after having my taken a chunk of my day waiting to get 1 operator, and getting a loaded script from them that my case will be appropriately handled - and still getting a DENIED claim.

Cancel Paypal - there has to be other Payment Providers that work better than this garbage treatment.
