Hey,

It's been 2 weeks my business account and therefore my whole business is limited because paypal asked a Revenue letter or tax demand issued in the last 12 months.
They asked this document because i used a "virtual office" they said.
As my corporation is new i don't have any of these docs and HMRC tend to not send them except if i don't pay my tax in 2020.

I see that the problem is the virtual address so i added my physical and trading address to replace the "virtual one", paypal still sent me the same mail and still asked me this revenue letter or tax demand, i'm now completely locked and nobody help me except the same bots.

Is there a paypal support here?

Thanks

Hi I have exactly same issue:

From Paypal: During a recent review we noted that your business registered address is associated with a virtual address. To comply with EU Regulations we must verify the physical address of our customers' businesses. You need to provide us with a government issued document to show your physical business address. We can accept the following government issued documents to confirm your physical address: • A Revenue letter or tax demand issued in the last 12 months. The documents should be fully legible and must include the company name, number and physical address. Once you've completed these steps and provided any additional information we may need, your case will be reviewed by one of our Account Specialists. We'll send you an email with the outcome of the review. If you can't complete these steps, click 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal page to get more information or to contact Customer Service. We appreciate your business and thank you for your patience and cooperation.

So basically, when your business account reached a certain financial amount - Paypal will restrict your account until you can prove you have paid tax to satisfy Europe. They do not take in to account the fact that many new business have not yet paid tax and may reach the limit before they do so. Also, they discriminate against Virtual office addresses, which is not European policy, it is Paypal policy, even though there is no such requirement from the British government to have a physical address as such. Now I just have to wait until my account is locked, thankfully I have stripe payments and Amazon / Gpay as alternative payment providers. Better hope you voted for brexit if your reading this. Euro-regulations are bad for British business - don't believe what you hear from the paid media actors.

I have the same EXACT problem.

I tried to send my UTR document from HMRC, but it failed.

I will contact HMRC and see what they can do...

Note: I am not registered in HMRC yet, and my company is new.
