Payment been taken out of my bank

I’ve had a payment of £30 been taken out of my bank for First payment PayPal payment Can you explain why I’ve had this taken out and why it says it’s a direct debit on my bank statement

I'm sorry to hear about the unrecognized transaction. If the transaction is listed in your online banking for your bank account but not on your PayPal account, it may be that someone used your bank account or debit card to make an unauthorized payment using PayPal.
