PayPal tells me to ship my damaged item back to China at my own cost!

I have lost all faith and trust in PayPal. I received a damaged bike from a seller in China who has not been responsive with me. I looked to PayPal to help me with options to rectify the issue. The only response I get is I need to ship the bike back to China at my own expense, which costs more than the bike itself. I have talked with PayPal supervisors of supervisors. They don't communicate on a human level or understand my feelings of helplessness around this issue. They simple say I'm responsible to send the damaged item back. I got no luck with anyone on the phone. My bank cannot do anything because I paid through my routing number and they don't cover "goods and services." I have no one to help me.

I will not be using PayPal again.

Why when paypal are doing exactly what they say they will do in their buyer protection policy?

Best not deal with your bank either then if they can't help you either?

In the event of a dispute you choose your seller and not Paypal so you need to bear in mind possible return trackable costs before you go ahead and buy from that seller / country.

Paypal state this >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

Although they will compensate you for some of the cost if you have activated this at some point before you made that transaction.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.
