PayPal account limitations

I got an email a while back that stated my account was going to be permanently deleted and funds would be held for 180 days. I assumed it was a fraudulent email so I forwarded it to PayPal’s fraud centre. I never received any follow up on it. As of now I can log into my PayPal account but I can’t send money, use PayPal to make a purchase, withdraw money, add a bank account or card. In the notifications it says I have an issue with my account that needs to be resolved but every time I click to resolve it, the page refreshes and nothing happens. I’ve tried contacting PayPal via Facebook and spoke to 3 diff reps who said they would forward my issue to a specialist and I’ve still not received any follow up. Anyone experiencing anything similar?

You assume what I'm going to talk about today. I have had account limitations for 5 months. I have uploaded and provided all the important docs and infos about my issue. But paypal keep saying ...provide more more more more. They obligated me to upgrade to business account even knowing that I dont want a business account. I had issues with paypal before but I call them and the staff help to make it work... but with this texting they are so lazy and nobody consider or have a look at what I provided of info..ect they keep saying an email will be sent to you blahblahblah. How on earth my problems will be resolved if I keep sending talking with a machine or someone who doesn't have access to the relevant department???? This the most bad situation I have ever encountered with paypal and they are not serious anymore. I guess I will clean my paypal account and use another method for payments... This is very disappointing experience and very very exhausting. Thank you M

Yes it’s ridiculous! Especially during Covid, withholding people’s access to their money is evil. I wish I could just withdraw all my money out of PayPal and delete my account forever. But I can’t even take my own money out!!!

I think paypal is losing it. Most people on my facebook reacted same way after I shared this issue looking for answers. If no one from paypal consider this issue.. it will be a going down for their business. I just feel this is it. But as you say it is just matter of time once we withdraw our money then I will close this account because I would rather pay more and have immediate results. They are blocking us and our business...I will just give it up. Thank you M

I sent money to a friend, the next day PayPal Limited my account and getting in touch with anyone has been hard. I use PayPal pretty frequently. Not being able to use PayPal is going to hinder me a lot. Not only did they limit me, but they limited the person I sent money to. There was no reason, there was no specifics. I want to dispute it, but I have emailed, sent a message through Twitter, and even tried to use the messages app on the site. It said everyone was offline. According to their hours, there should be someone online. Im a little distraught. Trying to call to see if I can get through to someone. Wait times have been upwards to 4 hour wait. I've been on hold for an hour and a half so far.

I’m surprised you can even be on hold via phone call... all I get is an automated robot. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing
