Others have reported my same issue but I can't find answers on here

I am told to return merchandise -falsely advertised and defective- using a tracking number, but that costs the same as the merchandise.  It might be cheaper going through customs but there is no tracking.  I guess I'm stuck?  I will not fall for Facebook ads that show everything in English even with the writing on the product being in English yet arriving from China with writing on the product in Chinese.  It also hurt my hands for 2 days just taking it out of the case for 2 seconds.  It is a fire blanket apparently made up of shards of glass, stained with spots from the case and having black ink stains.  The odor is also awful.  I see others with this same return cost dilemma for various products, but my questions to PayPal on what to do are not answered.  I guess I'll have to just forget about my $35.90 and throw the thing in the trash.
