Ordered items at FRAUD SCAM WEBSITE canvasn.club. NEED HELP or advice

I ordered items at canvasn.club (SCAM WEBSITE - DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING). The website is set up to simply steal credit card information and take PayPal payments. I first suspected something was wrong when I checked for my order confirmation receipts from the website, and saw I received none. I did receive PayPal payment confirmation receipts, indicating the payments went through, but these receipts do not have a description of the items purchased. I then decided to call the customer service number on the website, only to find out it was disconnected. At this time, I realized I was scammed, so, as most I think would do, I tried to contact PayPal support. PayPal support is closed due to the situation with the virus. When you call the PayPal support number, as you move through the prompts, you eventually get to a final message that say "customer service is closed". No doubt, many of you have experienced this, if you've tried to reach PayPal recently. I get it! It's a tough time for many of us, and for many businesses. PayPal is no exception. That said, let's continue: I decided to try to use the online dispute process, and found I could either choose an "item not received" or an "Unauthorized Transaction" option. I wanted to quickly get a message to PayPal, as phone support was completed shut down, so I used the "Unauthorized Transaction" option. I used this option and included a note describing that I did placed the order, but suspected the merchants/website was fraudulent...a scam. PayPal responded within 24 hours saying "We've completed our review of your unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no unauthorized use". I then thought, OK, I'll go back in and change the reason for the dispute, only to find 'any and all options for recourse were no longer available". Even the "item not received" option is gone. Essentially, PayPal has, at this time, shut down any and all recourse if you get scammed...at least, I certainly can't find any other way to reach them, or resolve this issue. The total cost of items was over $500, which is not a small amount for me. I typically consider PayPal the safest, but this experience is a little worrying. The lesson I've learned is to be more careful ordering online. I have to think a whole lot of people are going through the same thing, because the scam website is still up and running as of this post, and even if they take it down, I'm sure another one will pop up. Is PayPal simply shutting those customers' disputes down as well, with no recourse and no access to PayPal support? What recourse, if any, is there? Are there any useful tips you can share? I'm sure all those affected would really appreciate your help.

The same EXACT thing happened to me! I was so extremely excited to finally get a compost bin. Instead, I received 3 face masks in a plastic bag. I should have known, though, because the same model was 5 times the price on other sites. That is precisely why I used PayPal as opposed to directly entering my credit card, because I thought it would be another layer of protection for my information. I guess they figure as long as they can show a record of any item moving through the postal system, it doesn't matter what the item is. However, my sure post emails show "small package" and give the dimensions and weight of the masks - the item I ordered is large. I went through over a week of back and forth emails with the website's "customer service" to no avail. They told me it was a mistake in the logistics department and they would send the composter out (after a week of delaying). It's all BS.

Canvasn also said their logistics team messed up the order...by this time I had filed a second appeal to PayPal with more pictures and copies of correspondence. PayPal did follow up with Liu Wenli and was offered a refund minus the 10 to ship the face mask. I should have held out but I did get a $105 refund from PayPal. Everyone should review the company on TrustPilot website... There are 32 negative reviews and all received a face mask instead of what they ordered. Don't fool with them, file a PayPal claim and appeal if necessary.

Glad to hear you got most of it back. They rotate each transaction at their website through different PayPal accounts. If you place 3 orders within 30 minutes, you'll notice each transaction actually goes to a different PayPal account (I did this). This is intentional. If PayPal freezes one account, they have others that continue to receive funds, and they are no doubt continuously adding new PayPal accounts to the mix.

SCAMMED!!!! I ordered a garden hoe and received 3 fake face masks in a Ziploc baggie! There should be a way PayPal can show company reviews before being duped by these **bleep**. PayPal must somehow make money on this.

Yes, they make their percentage for the transaction. I question whether or not PayPal will make it much longer. They must know of these FRAUD SCAM websites by now, which means 1) they either willfully allow it for profit, or 2) have no idea how to close the hole in their security. Both possibilities are very bad. A third possibility - 3) they are in league with the FRAUD SCAM websites, or have individuals working within PayPal who are in league with the FRAUD SCAM websites. While the third possibility seems unlikely, if 1 and 2 are not the case, then all other possibilities, even the unlikely ones, must be considered.

I believe you are wrong about why PayPal is siding with the seller on these disputes when there is clear evidence by enough buyers that this is fraud.

The reason is not for the small transaction fees. The reason is that the seller was able to buy enough time from the time the transaction occurred to the time the disputes were started to get his money transferred to his account. If PayPal sides with one of us, they have to side with all of us. That will mean the loss of tens of thousands of dollars PayPal will not be able to recover from the seller, let alone the transaction fee loss.

That makes sense. I never thought of that. That said, if PayPal knows what's happening and are not willing to make things right, because they are trying to mitigate loss, they are complicit.

I've had the same issue. Placed order for two raised garden beds... received two surgical masks. Tried the phone number... not a working number. Looks like a bunch of people are having similar issues. Who should we report to on a government level - state level? Fed is pretty goofy right now so I have more confidence in state authorities.
