My account has been limited, and I want to close my account.

My account has been limited for a year or so now, however the details on the account aren't correct so I wont be able to provide ID and unlimit it. PayPal wont close my account either, after I've asked them multiple times. So, what can I do? Surely there's a way I can get access to my money? Thanks

If you have been told your Paypal account has been permanently limited then Paypal holds any funds for 180 days as that is the same time frame that buyers have to open paypal disputes.

If no disputes are opened against you in 180 days then 'normally' you are allowed to withdraw the funds as long as you are over 18, the account is in your legal name and registered in the country where you reside.

Sometimes they confiscate funds under this policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

Your best bet is to wait until the phones are back up and running and then phone customer services so that you can speak to an agent.
Then they can help advise on how you can withdraw the funds if and when you are allowed to do so.

My account hasn't been permanently limited, it's requesting I provide more info to confirm myself before I get full access back to my account. However, I can't do this, as the details on my account aren't correct. I'm stuck. Is there a way for them to get my account closed? Maybe if I admit to doing something against the rules they'll close my account? Any ideas?

Well if you can't provide the requested details then it is permanently limited isn't it.

Only you have it in your power to change that.

As you can't then the limitation would stand and you won't be able to close the account if you can't verify it with the correct information.

This same issue has happened before on a previous account, and before I could even unlimit it I was banned and I got an email saying funds would be available after 180 days, so I know its possible.
