Must get confirmation from PayPal in order to get a refund

I purchased something from the playstation store but got an error, I was then later charged for it but didn't receive the virtual items and there's no history of me making purchase on my playstation purchase history. I contacted playstation and they have told me I need confirmation from PayPal that the payment went through and didn't fail. My bank account was charged so I'm certain it didn't fail.
Does anyone know how I can obtain confirmation from PayPal? I thought this would just be an invoice but it apparently is not.

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?
1. Pending / Unclaimed.
2. Pending / Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Completed / Sent.
4. Pending / Uncleared.
5. Pending awaiting authorisation.
