Is text from PayPal legit or is it phishing?

I received a text: " We have limited your account. Please update your information or your account will get locked." With a url.

The url asks for credit card info.

Is this legit?

TIA

Sounds like its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

Now I got an email with a bogus charge.

When I go to the Resolution Centre I get "

Unable to complete your request

We’re sorry, you can’t file a case on this type of transaction. Please refer to our User Agreement for more details."

I followed the link which asked for my credit card info so I bailed.

It's really frustrating that I can't reach paypal. When I try the resolution centre to file a claim I get:

"Unable to complete your request

We’re sorry, you can’t file a case on this type of transaction. Please refer to our User Agreement for more details"

What type of dispute are you trying to file?  Unauthorized transactions or ...?
