Trying to help my son. Someone opened a PayPal account using his SSN and Birthdate. Paypal says it's his SSN and birthdate but it's under a different name so they won't do anything but investigate. It's hitting my sons' credit rating right now. Over $500 has been spent. He found out as he is trying to buy a house. PayPal won't provide any information regarding the name or purchases. We don't know who opened the account and how they got his info. If we had a better idea perhaps we could take measures to stop future accounts being opened up with my son's information. Any ideas to help get more information about this fraudulent account or is there someone higher up in PayPal that could help?
