I was scammed and cant find my payment on activity to refund!

I recently sent 30 usd to someone via f&f and once I made the payment the seller blocked me on the social media I used, I took screenshots and recordings of me sending the money and our chat log.

I have the transaction id from my email confirmation but cant find the actual payment on my activity therefore I cannot request a refund, I found him in the send again but he has changed his name so it isn't what it was when I first sent!

Like I said I have screenshots of our chat log and of him blocking me after I sent payment, I also have a screen record video of me sending the money.

He was supposed to send me a gift card code but it didn't work, I also have picture of me putting it in and it saying your code was invalid!

How can I get a refund? Like I said I have the transaction id but cant find the actual payment on activity?

I really need help since this was the last of my money and the giftcard was supposed to get me through my expenses throughout the month, now I have neither!

A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a gift payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade paying his paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time. You would also not be able to open a dispute apart from one citing an unauthorised transaction but that would be automatically closed as you did authorise the initial payment.

You also 'risk' having your account limited as using that option for purchasing goods is against Paypal rules.

If you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but unfortunately they may decline as well as it was a gift payment.

The fact you were misled is unfortunate but basically you sent a 'gift' of money to someone and so paypal cannot legally force them to return it.

If they were not a family member or a close mate then why would you think that option was safe to use?
