How to challenge a transaction greater than 180 days old.

Hi,

We made a purchase  at the end of July 2020 and due to Covid the packaged was delayed in getting to us in Australia.  Once received nearly 4 weeks later we found that what was sent wasn't want we ordered.  The supplier after quite a few emails agreed to credit the purchase if we returned the items back to China.  At the start of September 2020 we paid $44 to get the item sent back to the supplier in China and even though we could prove it was sent they wouldn't do anything until they had the parcel.  We contacted the supplier with the tracking details numerous times and they didn't seem to care. Last week we got a call from our local post office in Australia, the parcel had made it to China but had been marked Return to Sender and sent back!  Given that we tried to do the right thing by the supplier and acted within the 180 days, is there a way we can still challenge the transaction?  If not is there a way to protect other customers from going through what we did through no fault of our own?

Thanks.

Do a credit card chargeback if that's how you paid.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
