Someone recently bought something from me, and they sent me the money via PayPal by email. How do I know if what they sent me is real, or if it is a scam? Also when he sent me the email, it said it was from paypal

Emails from PayPal will always address you by your first and last names or your business name.
If you're unsure of an email, don't click any links in the email. Go to the PayPal site directly and log in to see if you have any payments or notices in your account.
Here is a PayPal link with details on fake emails.
