Help with a Case

Hi there PayPal community,

 

I am asking this for a friend. He recently purchased a toy from an international website but did it through PayPal. The toy was supposedly in perfect condition but it was not when he received it. He tried to get his money back by returning the toy but PayPal denied the claim. So he lost money on the toy which was in the thousands, money on the shipping and does not even have the toy or his money back. We did everything PayPal requested but no luck. What are our options?

Which dispute did he open?

Did he escalate to a claim?

Did paypal find in his favour?

If so did they tell him to return it?

Did he return it promptly?

Did he give paypal the tracking number?

Did paypal give a reason for the closed dispute?

He opened a dispute and did everything PayPal asked him to do. He and I shipped the item back and gave Paypal the tracking number, photos and everything else they needed. And then, Paypal denied the claim and so my friend lost money on the toy, shipping and does not even have the toy. We have tried contacting the seller and no luck also.
