Gift Card Scams

I was recently scammed, telling me a very sad story and asking for help. I fell for the story and was willing to help. I was sent a PayPal cash transfer and was asked to withdraw the money to send to their ailing family member, and after a few months I received a dispute stating that the transfer was unauthorized. Leaving me with a negative balance. I did try to respond to PayPal's inquiry but it doesn't seem like someone actually reviewed the case. How can I file an appeal?

Sorry, this happened to you but PayPal had to refund because there was unauthorized access. Look at it as tuition paid for a lesson learned to not do this for anyone. Don't know who/where the money comes from for sure.

I don't know if speaking with PayPal will help but here's how to contact them:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

Call early, during business hours, west coast time to try to get a US rep.
