Filed for a refund it got declined but I still received the loney

Hello basically I had work done on my car (a mass amount, I paid the guy via PayPal for his services and some of the service have turned out to be counterfeit goods/fakes/replicas of genuine parts, also some of the work carried out is to a low standard and causing issues with the car therefore I put in a dispute to get my money back, PayPal declined the dispute 1-2 days later yet they still refunded the money? What does this mean, did they send it to me just to take it back or did I actually get a refund, I got emails stating it’s been declined etc but unsure on what to think now.
