I had to open a dispute with regards to a missing item and the item received was not even remotely similar to the item described and shown in the photos. What happens if vendor does not reply to the dispute?

Once you have escalated to a claim paypal make a decision, if the seller has responded then normally you have to return the item back to the seller before you get a refund.
If the seller does not respond then often you are awarded a refund under buyer protection without having to return said item.
Advice is voluntary.
