Dispute to escalation?

I have an outstanding order and couldn't contact the seller. After I raised a dispute, the seller has been in contact and has advised that they will arrange delivery for the week that the dispute is due to be either closed, or escalated. I don't have a delivery date yet, but it is likely to be after the dispute has closed. I see from the help guides that the dispute will close automatically if not escalated, and I will be unable to reopen the case if the goods don't arrive. What would be the recommended way to deal with this? Should I open an escalation, which seems a bit mean if the goods do arrive, but I will lose out big time if they don't. Would appreciate advice please? @escalation
