I was scammed by a now well documented con where I was sent cheap goods in place of a more expensive item, I went through the refund process but I was asked to sent the item back by PayPal and provide tracking information to receive a refund, however this request was received from PayPal while I was enroute to Australia so I was unable to send the items back, now because I have not send them back the refund has been denied....this is a very disappointing outcome as it’s let the scammers win which is not good. What can an do now ?

Yes, timely response and/or completing the returns process is required to maintain buyer protection. If you paid by credit card, you are free to dispute through card issuer now since the PayPal dispute is over and done with.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
