Counterfeit Items eBay

Hi everyone. I recently purchased 2 supposedly “Osaka Pro Tour Limited 2018” hockey sticks from eBay. They were listed as the real thing not replicas or any type of wording that would suggest otherwise. The photos shown were also of the official sticks. Upon receiving the sticks they looked okay as I was in a rush and used one to play a single game of hockey. At half time I could tell it just did not feel legit having owned officially purchased sticks and the quality just wasn’t there as with many other fakes. After a little further research it is now clear and easy to tell these are not legit sticks. I’ve even messaged the seller and he is not defending they are legit at all. I’ve opened a dispute then made it into a claim accepting a partial refund but to keep the items (will probably sit under a bed unusable now). The question is - PayPal has now said I need to return the fraudulent items at my own cost, for a partial refund - not what I agreed to??? Help??? Any advise would be appreciated on how to get PayPal to see I’ve been sold fake items and it would cost quite a lot to return them.

If you wanted a partial a refund, resolve it with the seller within the dispute stage, for once you escalate to claim, it seems like when PayPal decides and there's no other choice but return for full refund. This is the second case I have seen since yesterday that buyer wanted partial refund but since the case was escalated that option is off the table.

Contact customer service for assistance in seeing a possibility of getting a partial and no return:

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.

Say "Live Agent" to the automated recording.
