China’s Bait and Switch Scam

I have asked for a refund from a fraudulent seller who claimed to have an office in New York but sent Item from China that was totally different and of very poor quality. I was told that I have to pay exorbitant fees to return the item to China. This is a bait and switch operation that is being allowed by PayPal. How can this be legal?

Thank you so much for your help. After seeing your reply, I called PayPal’s customer service and explained my situation stressing the fact that I believe that the seller is scamming people all over the U.S. with multiple online "stores” that take PayPal. The customer service agent listened to my complaint, gave me a full refund and said that I didn’t need to return the wigs. I do intend to file complaints with each agency that you sent me links to. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Agreed! my next move was to contact the USPS link you provided.  I went as far as speaking to the local post master where I got total support.  Eventually, PayPal refunded me.  But, it took numerous attempts and phone calls.  Another member is correct.  You must be persistent.  Because,  PayPal’s Resolutions Dept. alleges “You are guilty as charged.”

I’m so glad I found this post I use the link above to report the site that I got scammed off of. A few friends and I fell for an ad that stated they had post Malone crocs that are sold out everywhere and we paid $79.80 total and received a regular old pair of crocs. We emailed the company back and they were more than happy to give us a full refund as long as we ship them back to them quoting it’ll cost you more in shipping to return them then it will for you just to keep them if you keep them will give you 10% of what you’ve spent as a refund I told him no thank you this was blatant Bait and switch as all three of my friends also received plain old crocs and at that point they told me the best I could do is 20% refund and I could keep the crocs I told them now I will be filing a claim with PayPal and now Paypal is siding with them telling me that the refund my money only if I ship them back which at that point I lose the crocs and the money that I spent because it’s gonna cost me more money to ship a pair of crocs back to China the cheapest I got was 80 some thing this is complete **bleep** I thought Paypal was here to protect us from this **bleep**
