A month back I sold a toyota mirror on ebay for $105. Item was delivered with proof. A few days ago the buyer opens an ebay case stating that he didn't receieve the item. I show proof of delivery and ebay rules in my favor. The buyer then opens a paypal case and now puts that the item was stolen off his porch ( he was in the hospital ) and the post office told him the seller needs to open a dispute with the usps. Now how can I open a case with the usps for an item I dont know wether it was stolen or not? The usps will ask for a police report, right? I provide PayPal with the tracking # and the ebay outcome str8 from my ebay account. Today i get an email that the case has been decided in the buyers favor because the tracking info I gave couldnt not be validated? Huh? I COPIED THE ENTIRE TRACKING NUMBER AND INFO...WHICH SHOWS EVERY STEP THE PACKAGE WENT THRU UP UNTIL IT WAS DELIVERED. now im out of the item, money and the shipping charges since i offer free shipping. " Case ID: PP-D-47132357 The case was closed in favor of the buyer, based on the info they provided. The disputed amount has been withdrawn from your PayPal balance. Call customer service to speak with a dispute specialist to appeal first thing tomorrow and give tracking number again. I tracked number and it says "Delivered" clear as day. You did your job, you are not responsible for the security of the buyer's premises or being in the hospital. This is really a matter between the post office and buyer. Was there insurance on the parcel? The USPS is going to go, "too bad, so sad" if it was not insured and it was marked as "delivered".

I had a similar situation.  Problem is, when I called customer service, I got the run-around talking to a barely English speaking lady who kept telling me it had been turned over to the CC issuer and their was nothing she could do.  She said if the CC issuer ruled in my favor, I would get my money back and the PayPal Chargeback fee ($20).  Well 60 days later, you can guess what happened; the CC issuer ruled in his customer's favor.  Surprise, surprise.
