Cannot dispute charge because it's not showing up in activity

I purchased a Nintendo Switch Lite from a website that I found via Google's price comparison tool. It had looked visibly legit and had PayPal as the payment option. I actually used my credit card information instead of putting my PayPal account username and password. I received an e-mail from  service @ paypal after the purchase which contains transaction IDs and also looks official, but noticed the name of the store Best Online Shop and the e-mail below it looked very suspect. I never received any e-mail from the seller and reached out, but heard nothing back. I went to file a dispute on PayPal, but the transaction doesn't show up in my activity. I cannot find the same website and google has removed it as well. My credit card has been charged however. I called the credit card company first, but they said to call PayPal first to file the dispute. Can somebody help me dispute this please?

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your Paypal account then of course it won't show on that Paypal account because you bought as a 'guest buyer'.
However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.

If you need to open a dispute for a 'guest buyer' transaction then you can.......

1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will open one for you (difficult at the moment due to covid)
OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.

What can I do if the seller processed my payment using their Paypal 'card reader'?  This seems like a convenient trick for fraudsters to use, and PayPal can just wash their hands off of the whole affair.
