Cannot close PayPal account

This morning money was taken from my bank named PAYPAL PAYMENT FIRST PAYMENT. I was told PayPal was free to use but I was clearly wrong.. So I then proceeded to close my PayPal account but it is telling I cannot because there is a pending transaction yet I have not purchased anything recently and money has been paid already for my previous transactions. My bank shows nothing and PayPal shows no pending transactions.... Just delete my PayPal account please...

Check your subscriptions.

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments''.
