I made a purchase of a kit of ram from a seller on eBay. After testing, the ram was found to be faulty. I contacted the seller and I was told to RMA the ram with the manufacturer as they could not do anything to assist me.
I opened a dispute with Paypal and the case was awarded to the seller.
The season given by Paypal was "The case was closed in the receiver's favor as the item was altered or repaired while in your possession."
I want to know how can it be determined that the item was altered or repaired? Is installing a stick of ram into a pc considered as altering the product? I wish to appeal this ruling but I do not know how to.
