Buyer Item not received

I recently purchased an item worth over $1000 from eBay, and the seller shipped the item.

Just two days before the scheduled delivery, I was involved in a car accident.

My legs were injured and I had kidney problems. 

Therefore I couldn't pickup the package not only I was injured, I was also hundreds of miles away from the small town that the package was delivered.

My cousin then contacted the seller explaining the situation, but the seller wasn't willing to take the package back and issue a refund.

The USPS tracking showed that the package was already returned to the seller, and my eBay case was closed on seller's favor because they said that the seller shipped the item. 

What should I do now? What can I expect from a Paypal INR dispute?

Probably the same thing due to the tracking information saying you didn't pick up or other, but don't hurt to file anyway. If the dispute falls through, and you paid by credit card, dispute with your card.
