Blocked PayPal.

Hello, guys. I don't really know what I did wrong. My friend introduced PayPal to me for receiving payments and I opened an account some weeks back. I started receiving payments yesterday and when I tried to withdraw the money, PayPal blocked the withdrawal. Today, I received a new email that my account has been blocked and I cannot withdraw my money until after 6 months. Is this how PayPal works?

Operating a PayPal account is getting more and more complicated. And there are over a thousand reasons literally to cause a permanent account limitation; from what you are receiving money for, to using someone else' financial info, to simply not being familiar with basic account operations and triggered the security system.

 

Since the problem started with withdrawal, what are you withdrawing to? US Bank account or credit, debit, or prepaid card? PayPal has a security/risk management model that could give a false positive or there was some kind of misunderstanding.

 

Is there a PayPal case in the Resolution Center? Read what it says. Does it let you appeal the limitation?

 

You can also call customer service to enquire about all this as they have access to your account to see what went wrong:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other available options.

I just opened PayPal and I don't know why it is doing that.

You need to contact customer services to resolve any limitation OR account specific issues.
Click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available for your country.
