Being Scammed from Paypal's ridiculous 180 Days Dispute/Return Policy

I sold an item on Ebay to this scammer (I should have known since they had 0 feedback and weird characters as their ID name) in December of last year.

4 months later, I get a claim from Paypal and funds are taken out of my account/negative balance, stating the scammer "didn't receive item, don't want it anymore".

The only way to appeal through Paypal's automated system is to provide a current tracking number. But guess what? How convenient for the scammer that USPS tracking/Ebay expire their history in 90 Days. But Paypal allows these scammers to open up these outrageous claims for 180 Days.

So all Paypal does is lazily check to see if that tracking number is valid or not (That's also another scam how people get sent fake items/empty envelope and get **bleep** too)

So these dishonest scammers open up these claims 4 months later after all the evidences are clearly gone.

Paypal does NOT care how ridiculous these scammers make these claims months later and their only concern is a tracking information that is available online.  They don't take into consideration how ridiculous it is to claim months later "Oh, I didn't receive something so I'm going to complain now, 4 months later", or look at their track record.

I appealed and even called Paypal/spoke to a supervisor and all they care about is a tracking number that shows delivered - when it's so frustrating that we have no control of providing that tracking because it's been over 90 days. They don't care.

This is how all these scammers get away with Paypal's outrageous 180 day policy.

What can be done? I lose out on money, time, product, and get penalized from paying ebay fees as well. While this scammer gets a free product. It looks like this scam has been going around for awhile and Paypal does not care allowing these scammers to win every time.

i know just how you feel . mine was not 4 months after , it was 6 weeks . the guy tried through ebay but they threw it out as they should , dumb guy for trying that way as everyone knows they have a 30 day warranty .

so he goes to PayPal and sure enough they side with him . electronic item , saying it does not work properly . it took him 6 weeks to test it , i don,t think so??? it was a speed camera detector and he said to paypal that ge needed a car to test it in , duh ,i went to the address using google earth  , not sure when the maps were done but at that time there was 2 cars parked in the drive , and why would you buy one if you do not have a car ???  . probably broke it himself and just using the stupid paypal system for a refund like a lot of scammers out there do .Totally ridiculous situation when you have ebay with a 30 day warranty and paypal with a 180 warranty refund system , ebay might as well throw theirs in the bin, not worth the virtual ink it is written with.

paypal!!!, totall wast of time , all they are worried about is keeping people buying so they get their fees , it does not matter what you tell them , they will always side with the buyer . the real joke is that paypal warn you to beware of scammers

just a note about my cas

e . the buyer had changed his user i.d 4 times , wish i had noticed that before shipping to him as i would not have sent it . always think there is something dodgy when a person changes it 4 times within 1 year . i have had the same one since joining ebay . why would you want to keep changing it if you were not up to no good .

please everyone , check the i.d of the buyer before sending , it can tell you a lot .

On a bright note i will not have to worry about it soon . moving to another country and not opening a paypal account there , oh happy days Smiley Happy
