My name is Kyle, I set up this account while I was a minor under my mother's name. I realize I made a huge mistake. I am now 20 years old and want to close this account so I can use Paypal again. What do I do?

Well, you can open a new PayPal account under your name but your mom perhaps can't have her own account because the limited account is under her name. Then again if you opened your own account, it might be limited/banned also so be prepared to provide photo ID, etc due to the possibility of your account being cross-referenced to this limited account somewhere down the line. Just letting you know. Let's hope it doesn't but it could.
Limited/banned accounts cannot be closed like you would accounts in normal standing but you can consider it closed since all critical features are locked on it.
Perhaps contact customer service to explain the situation and have them open a new account for you if you can get through:
- Log on.
- Click HELP at the top menu.
- Scroll down and click CONTACT US.
- Scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.
Call early, during business hours, west coast time to try to get a US rep.
Or contact via social media:
Facebook (US): https://www.facebook.com/PayPal/
Facebook (Worldwide): https://www.facebook.com/paypal
Twitter (US): @AskPayPal
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
