Hi - hoping people can offer some advice. I bought an item from an ebay seller and one of the parts was not a genuine/original part (he had told me in a message that it was). I asked the seller for a partial refund to purchase a replacement part as it was a gift for someone. He ignored me so I opened a case with Ebay. However Ebay have basically told me that my only option is to send the whole lot back for a refund or accept it. I don't want to send the whole thing back as I will be left without a gift at this stage before xmas. Would paypal help in this instance?

Nope because paypal state the same.
Paypal do not get involved in part returns or part refunds that is between you and the seller, once its a claim paypal tell you to return what you received for a full refund if you win that claim.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
