Account limited for 180 days and still can't withdraw money.

Hi there,

My account has been permanently limited because I was trying to use my Hong Kong business details to upgrade my New Zealand personal account to business account. I have around $1600 USD in my account and they promised I could withdraw it after 180 days. So 180 days have passed and I still cannot withdraw my money. The customer service is 200% HOPELESS as neither phone nor email would work (as they said-COVID is affecting them). I am just one step away from taking legal action. Has anyone managed to talk to them?

If you have been told your Paypal account has been permanently limited then Paypal holds any funds for 180 days as that is the same time frame that buyers have to open paypal disputes.

If no disputes are opened against you in 180 days then 'normally' you are allowed to withdraw the funds as long as you are over 18, the account is in your legal name and registered in the country where you reside.

Sometimes they confiscate funds under this policy.

Paypal also may request further documentation from you before you can withdraw those funds.

Your best bet is to wait until the phones are back up and running and then phone customer services so that you can speak to an agent.
Then they can help advise on how you can withdraw the funds if and when you are allowed to do so.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I have this problem also. What to do? I cannot get in touch with them by no meanings, neither phone or email.

My account was permanently limited in April 2020, and is almost December and still can't withdraw my money. This is absolutely ridiculous!
