Account limitations for sending money above EU limit? I haven't sent anything? Is this fake?

Hi all I received an email from PayPal to say my account is limited for the following " We need some info from you. You tried to send a payment that was over the sending limits set by European law. To lift the limit, the law requires you to verify your identity." However I haven't tried to send any amount at all. Has anyone else received this. Thanks Amadablam

Welcome to the community!  That's a great question.  Here's an article from our Help Center on how to spot fake, spoof, or phishing emails.  Also, you can verify this information by logging into your PayPal account and going to your Resolution Center.  I hope this helps.
