Account limitation

Hello,

I have an account limitation issue.

I have set this account when I was in the US, however as a foreigner I have never got a social security number that is necessary to remove this limitation.

So not I would like to withdraw all my money and close the account. Is it possible or will I lose my money?

Thank you.

Hi @Gianluca85,

I’m very sorry to hear about the trouble with the limitation. 😞 That can definitely be frustrating. The information @kernowlass has provided is accurate and extremely important – if you have moved to another country, you definitely need to create an account where you currently live; however, if your limitation is permanent, this wouldn’t be an option.

In cases where a permanent limitation is placed on an account, the balance is held for 180 days. This is to ensure there is a balance available for any disputes or chargebacks that may be raised against the account. Once this time frame has passed, we’ll email you to let you know your balance is available.

Once the balance is released, you can withdraw the funds either using a financial already on the account, or by adding a bank.

If you encounter any issues withdrawing your funds after the 180 days have passed, you’ll need to contact us by phone or email, or reach us on Facebook or Twitter so that we can help troubleshoot the issue and get your funds to you as quickly as possible. I hope this information helps!

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

You are supposed to withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts before you leave your old country. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved.

You may need to open an account in your own country and then contact customer services to see if they can help you transfer those funds and close the old account.
