Account Restrictions.

I had a personal PayPal account which I made into a business account when I streamed on youtube. Since then I wanted it back to a personal account because I no longer streamed on youtube. Paypal doesn't have the option to switch so I decided to close the account and create another. This triggered a security alert on the new account putting limitations so I basically can't do anything.

They want me to give a bank statement which I did but I can't upload a photo id, do I need to complete both options or just one. I asked support on LiveChat but they just closed the conversation without even answering me, basically ignored.  Does anyone know what I can do?

Please contact customer service to downgrade but that does not necessarily mean it will absolve you from providing photo id:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

Or contact via social media:

Facebook (UK): https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK

Twitter (UK): @paypalUK

Facebook (US): https://www.facebook.com/paypal

Twitter (US): @AskPayPal

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

@sharpiemarker don't think you understood what I meant, I have a new PayPal to make it personal but that triggered the alert.

Reread " Paypal doesn't have the option to switch so I decided to close the account and create another"

Generally to downgrade to personal account, you have to contact customer service.

Now with the new account, you must supply the information PayPal is requesting to lift the limitation. Simple as that. Not much you can do to get around it.

Please contact customer service for assistance and ask if they can forgo providing photo id:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

Or contact via social media:

Facebook (UK): https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK

@sharpiemarker There are two options, bank statement and photo id. I did the bank statement and its under review. Do I need to complete both options or just one?

Does it say you can supply either one or both?

I have a feeling its for both. Photo ID is for proof of identity and bank/card statements are for proof of address. When you upload, it will be marked Under Review as well.

Keep in mind, this is PayPal user to user help, not customer service and we can only give general information. We can not see what is on your screen. If you need further assistance, please contact customer service.

@sharpiemarker Doesn't say whether to do one or both, I did contact support on live chat but they just ended the conversation without giving me an answer or anything.
