Hello,

Thank you for reading.  I wanted to buy a computer part from an Etsy store a few days ago.  I paid almost $700 for the part.  That same night, Etsy closed the seller's account as it was fake and a fraud, the seller was simply taking payments until being shut down for being a fraud, there never was any merchandise this was a total scam.  I never received any further communication from anyone, I can't contact the seller in any way, any reference to the store on Etsy no longer exists, I received no packages.  I knew that night that I was scammed and filed a dispute with Paypal, who has denied my claim!

Please help!  $700 was stolen from me and paypal won't help!

It would really help if you said WHICH dispute you opened, how can we advise otherwise???

Hello, thank you for looking at this.  I called Paypal last night who re-opened my case.  It's now an "Item not received" dispute.

The gal said they'd dispute it, and the seller has to prove they shipped it.  The shipper created a fake shipment that says it was delivered.  I called FedEx to get the shipment details as I never received anything, FedEx sent me an official document that the package was ".5 lbs".  This item was a video card, an RTX 3080 to be specific, that weighs 6lbs itself without any packaging.  This should send up huge red flags to Paypal, that the shipment was for a half pound for a minimum 6 lb item, I hope they catch that it was a fake shipment.

My fear is that paypal just keeps seeing SOMETHING shipped and was delivered and they close my case!

If and only if you lose because seller creates a fake tracking number then you can..........

APPEAL

To submit an appeal on the dispute that was closed, PayPal asks that you obtain a detailed report from the shipper/courier (on their letterhead or some other form of official stationary) that includes the address the seller gave them for the shipment. Or one that includes a statement mentioning your address and saying the item was delivered to a different address.
Check tracking in below link to see where it went.
https://www.17track.net/en

When you have that, contact PayPal via phone (log on to your account and click Contact at the bottom of the page, however that may not be an option at the moment due to covid), or via Facebook (send a Private Message to PayPal) or via Twitter (send a Direct Message to @AskPayPal) and say you want to appeal the denial of the dispute based on the shipper saying the item was delivered to a different address. Once it's submitted (you will be provided with directions on how to do that), the dispute will be reviewed further and a determination will be made.

You also have the option to contact your card issuer if you funded your paypal payment that way and see if they will do a chargeback for you.
