Hi everyone.

As well as running the weekly Live Chat every Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm GMT, we will also be running a separate thread for a week on specific topics.

From today until next Tuesday, the 27h of September, we will be talking about PayPal's Seller Protection Policy.

I will start by advising on some common queries that we receive regarding seller protection. If you have anything else that you would like to ask, please feel free to ask here and we will monitor this thread over the next week.

Keep in mind that this is only relating to seller protection. If you would like a different topic to be discussed next week or in future, please let us know through our Feedback thread here

Here are some common answers to queries that we receive:

- Seller Protection is not currently offered on Personal/Gift transactions. These types of payments should only be received from friends and family members. If you are receiving these types of payments for the sale of an item, you will not be covered under our Seller Protection Policy if there is a claim filed on the payment.

- In order to be covered under our Seller Protection Policy, you need to ensure that the item is posted to the address showing on the payment you received on PayPal. You also need to check on the transaction details page that the payment is marked as 'Eligible' in the Seller Protection Policy section.

- For cases where the buyer is claiming non receipt of goods, you would need to provide us with a tracking number or proof of delivery to show that the item has been delivered to the address on the PayPal transaction details page.

- For cases where the buyer is claiming that the payment is an unauthorised payment, we would need to see proof that the item was shipped to the address on PayPal.

- In most cases if there is a dispute/claim filed through your account, you would need to respond to the case within 10 days from the date the case was opened. If there is no response received, it could result in a full refund being issued to the buyers account.
