Hi everyone.

As well as running the weekly Live Chat every Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm GMT, we will also be running a separate thread for a week on specific topics.

From today until next Tuesday, the 11th of October, we will be talking about Phishing Emails.

I will start by advising on some common queries that we receive regarding Phishing Emails. If you have anything else that you would like to ask, please feel free to ask here and we will monitor this thread over the next week.

Keep in mind that this is only relating to Phishing Emails. If you would like a different topic to be discussed next week or in future, please let us know through our Feedback thread here

Here are some common answers to queries that we receive:

- Any time PayPal send you an email, we will always address the email to your name as it appears on your PayPal account. We will never address an email Dear Customer or Hello User.

- If you receive an email from PayPal advising about a payment, always login to your account separately and not through the email to ensure that the funds have been received.

- Only post an item to your buyer when you can see the funds in your PayPal balance. Even if a payment is on hold as a new seller payment hold, you will see the funds in your PayPal account. We will never ask you to post an item before the funds will be showing on your account.

- We will never ask you to click on links or download attachments in an email to resolve an issue relating to your account.

You can find more information on how you can detect and report these emails to us here http://ow.ly/V71vI

If anyone has anything else that you would like to ask, please feel free to comment below Smiley Happy
