This week's Community Chat is now open and unlocked!

Our moderator staff will be available for the next hour to answer your questions about PayPal, get to know you, or just have idle conversation.  We do ask that posts follow the PayPal Community Help Forum Policy and the Forum Guidelines.

Once the session is over, this thread will be locked again, but you will be able to view the content in the forums.  This chat is a regular feature every Wednesday from 4-5 PM CST, so if you missed us this week, please feel free to stop by in the future! We want to get to know you!

To start the day off, tell us about your favorite silly holiday.  For example, today is Pi day.  You know, good old 3.14?  What non-standard holiday have you heard of or celebrated?

Hello, PayPal!

Recently I purchased an item via eBay, and did not really want it, so I asked for a refund from the seller and I did receive it.  This was confirmed on my PayPal account’s balance sheet that I did in fact receive a debit of $18.99, yet when I attempted to check the balance on my Visa debit card; it told me I only had $0.03 in my balance.

I attempted to contact eBay via their customer support’s resolution center, but they do not offer live chat nor the appropriate categories for my problem, so I considered this an error perhaps on the part of PayPal’s systems or my debit card company.

I was wondering if the PayPal staffers could perhaps take a look at my problem, and I hope find a solution.  If you need any information, please feel free to contact me whichever way is possible and I shall get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Jesse.

P.S. My favorite silly holiday is the Spinach Festival Day on March 26th!

Welcome to the Community Chat!

I'm typing up a response to your question and will post it soon.  In the meantime, thanks for answering the icebreaker!  Smiley Happy

My favorite silly holidays of the past have been, of course, talk like a pirate day and I'm a Bear day.

What is the status of the payment in your PayPal account? If it is refunded, PayPal would have sent the funds back to your card issuer immediately.

However, card issuers typically wait 2-7 days to apply the credit to your statement, although their own policies allow them up to 30 days to do so.  Every card issuer varies, so if you haven't seen it yet and you're curious when they will apply the credit, I would recommend giving them a ring to find out what their policies are for providing you the credit.

Thanks!

Thank you, Adrian.  I will give them a call here in a little bit.  To answer your question, my Payment Status is "Completed"; the Date is "Mar 13, 2012" and I have all of the necessary details needed.  I will see if the credit card company's customer service hotline is availabe!  Thank you once again!
