Using the Star SM-L200 Bluetooth Printer with PayPal Here

This post explains how to connect the Star SM-L200 Bluetooth printer with the PayPal Here app via Bluetooth.

The Star SM-L200 Bluetooth printer is easy to set up as it connects wirelessly to your mobile phone or tablet. Setting up the Bluetooth connection differs slightly dependent on the phone or tablet model that you are using:

 

  1. If you have a recent iPhone or iPad

(iPhone 4S or later model, iPad mini / iPad 3rd generation or later)

 

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone or iPad (you can switch it on under ‘Bluetooth’ in the Settings menu.
  2. Make sure the printer is switched on
  3. Open the PayPal Here app
  4. Go to ‘Settings’
  5. Go to ‘Printers and Cash Drawer’
  6. Wait for the ‘Star SM-L200’ printer to appear on the list and then select it

 

Once the printer is connected you can print a test receipt by clicking on the (i) icon next to the printer. After setting up the printer you will always get the option to print a receipt at the end of a transaction, underneath the ‘Email’ and ‘Text’ option. 

 

  1. If you have an Android device or an older iPhone/iPad

 

  1. Go to Bluetooth Settings on your phone or tablet
  2. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled
  3. Make sure the printer is switched on
  4. Find the printer in the list of available devices and click on it to connect (it will appear as ‘Star Micronics’ or ‘Star L200-xxx’)
  5. If you are prompted for a password or PIN type ‘1234’
  6. Once connected, open the PayPal Here app
  7. Go to Settings
  8. Go to Printers and Cash Drawer
  9. Wait for the printer to appear on the list and then select it (it will appear as ‘Star Micronics’ or ‘Star L200-xxx’) 

On iPhone or iPad you will be able to print a test receipt by clicking on the (i) icon next to the printer. On Android devices you will need to complete a transaction to test if the printer is working. Once the printer is set up you will always get the option to print a receipt at the end of a transaction, underneath the ‘Email’ and ‘Text’ option.
