Paypal Here Card Reader Issues

I got a brand new tablet PC so I could take payment using Paypal

The model is a Kingpad K90.

Android 4.4.4

The card reader does not register as being connected.  I've checked, it's all the way in.  I've done all of the troubleshooting items listed and the reader does not pick up.  It does not show as an available device under bluetooth devices.  No matter what I try, I get the "no Card Reader Paired" message when I open the app.

I've got a trade show in a couple weeks and if I can't get this up and running before then, I'm in big trouble!
